Glennis Thomas
July 30, 1949 - November 7, 2019



Glennis Lamar Thomas, age 70 and a resident of Franklinton, died Thursday afternoon November 7, 2019 at North Oaks Medical Center following complications from an automobile accident. He was a longtime truck driver that hauled gas, gravel, wood chips and many types of freight through the years. Glennis had the CB handle “Disco Duck”. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a member of the Chapter O Gold Wing Club in Franklinton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Glennis also enjoyed gardening and was well known for the great watermelons he could grow.

Survived by: Wife of 49 years: Patricia Barber Thomas of Franklinton; Daughter: Theresa Armand of Ormond Beach, FL; Grandson and Spouse: Merrick and Deserea Armand of Lake Charles; Brothers and Sisters in law: Daniel and Pauline Thomas of Angie, Jimmie and Marian Thomas of Covington; Sister: Ola Mae Thomas Magee of Franklinton; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Larry Barber and Janice Schillings, Odeal Gaines, Jimmy Jenkins, Louise Dedon; Special Friends: Daryl Barber, Mark Stuart; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jim I. Thomas and Ruthie Lee Hunt Thomas, sister and brother in law Barbara and Burdette Thomas, brother in law Earl Magee.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday November 10th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Monday with Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
