Charline Jenkins Spencer
June 24, 1917 - November 1, 2019



Charline Jenkins Spencer, age 102 and a resident of Franklinton, died early Friday morning November 1, 2019 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church that loved working in her yard. Even well into her 90s, she was cutting her own grass and changing the oil in her car. She was truly blessed with an independent spirit and a long healthy life. Charline was an excellent baker that made huge wedding cakes for many couples through the years and delicious petit fours. She was also a seamstress that often altered clothes for her family and friends. Charline was always a loving wife, mother and sister and a devoted and caring grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survived by: 2 Sons: Dale Spencer, Ted Spencer and Lisa Mizell all of Franklinton; 6 Grandchildren and Spouses: Lyn and Ronnie Taylor, Cynthia and Chris Pope, Alicia and Brett Pounds, Byron and DeAnn Forbes, Brandy Spencer, Kevin and Samantha Spencer; Great-grandchildren: Drew Taylor, Kaylynn Pope, Johnathan Seal, Jacob Seal, Reid and Emily Pounds, Garrett Pounds, Allison Forbes, Aaron Forbes, Landon Tanner, Erin Tanner, Cullen Spencer, Knox Spencer, Madelan Spencer; Sister in law: Laura Jenkins of Tennessee; Very Special Friend: Gilda McCain; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ivan “Poss” Spencer, daughter in law Charlotte Ann Passman Spencer, parents Charlie Thomas Jenkins and Zula McCain Jenkins, sister Flo Durden, 5 brothers R.L. Jenkins, Errol Jenkins, Larry Jenkins, Chester Jenkins and Rex Jenkins.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Sunday November 3rd from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Monday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Monday with Dr. Joe Baugh and Rev. Joey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.
