President Thomas Provides Report to Parish Council

Washington Parish Richard Ned Thomas and his staff reported to and answered questions by the Parish Council Monday evening (October 7, 2019) on work being done throughout the parish, on finances, and on other noteworthy matters. The report is a regular feature of the meeting held twice each month.

Appointments were made to two Fire Districts and a financial report was made by Public Works Director Ken Wheat on behalf of Finance Director Donna Graham who was absent. Wheat reported on activities at the Parish Animal Shelter that included a number of adoptions, a Meet and Greet event at the shelter by the Magnolia Chapter of the Louisiana Humane Society, and continued improvements made at the shelter. Wheat also provided the quarterly Permit Office report. Transportation Supervisor Donnell Merritt provided his monthly report, reflecting a tremendous amount of work performed throughout Washington Parish.
