Obituary

W. C. Creel
August 31, 1943 - October 7, 2019



W. C. Creel, age and a resident of Mount Hermon, died Monday night October 7, 2019 at Riverside Medical Center. He was retired after over 20 years as the owner of Dependable Cleaners and also Creel Insurance. W.C. served his country and state for 27 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard, before retiring as a Master Sergeant. His unit served in Central America on numerous occasions. W.C. loved fox hunting and deer hunting and he enjoyed raising his hunting dogs. He also enjoyed farming, working in the hay field and feeding his bull and beef cattle. W.C. attended Bogue Chitto Baptist Church for many years and was a member of the Pine Masonic Lodge, with 50 years of brotherhood.

Survived by: Wife: Kaye Morris Creel of Mt. Hermon; 3 Sons and a Daughter in law: Charles Kevin Creel and Missy Creel of Sandy Hook, MS, Blandon Creel of Florida, Kyle Duncan of Denver, CO; 3 Daughters and a Son in law: Shemain Holcomb, Shania Thomas both of Pine, Renee and Clint Fortenberry of Mt. Hermon; Step-daughter: Sondra O’Quinn of Pine; Grandchildren and Spouses: Charles Kevin “C.K.” Creel, II and Rachel Creel, Caleb and Darrien Creel, Kylee Creel, Colby Holcomb, Cannon Holcomb, Casey Creel, Kassidy and Jordan Crain, Hanna Whaley, Byron Hyatt, Weston Fortenberry; Great-grandchildren: Paisleigh Burkes, Charles Kevin “Trey” Creel, III, Wyatt Fisher Creel, Bryce Crain, Tucker Creel; 3 Sisters and Brothers in law: Melda F. and Doyle Jarrell, Shirley Morgan, Bronis and Byron Brumfield all of Franklinton; Step-mother: Vickie Creel of Franklinton; Aunt: Dorothy Tynes of Tennessee; Also numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Buford Creel and Audrey Magee Creel and brother in law Kenneth Morgan.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday October 9th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Thursday. A Masonic Rites Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:45 pm Thursday. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. Calvin Crowe, Eld. Duane Ball and Rev. Brad Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
