The Oct. 12th Primary Election - Are You Registered and Prepared to Vote?

Campaigning is in "full swing" by candidates seeking office with Election Day (October 12, 2019) only a little more than a month away. And registration deadlines are fast approaching for voters to be able to cast a ballot. September 11th is the deadline to register in person or by mail. September 21st is the deadline to register online.

The primary purpose of this election is for voters to elect the governor, statewide officials, various municipal officials, and to vote on four Louisiana Constitutional Amendments. In addition, some parishes will have local and parish-wide propositions. Learn about the candidates and the propositions.

Be prepared to cast your vote by clicking here. Review the sample ballot for your precinct by scrolling down to Precinct Ballots and clicking on Sample Ballot Search. Then follow the directions to see the ballot for your precinct.

Early voting begins September 28th and ends October 5th.

The Primary Election on October 12th will determine the winners and losers in many races. A "run-off" for the remaining races will be held in the General Election on November 16th.
