Joseph Lawrence Jackson
December 02, 1936 - September 02, 2019

Joseph “Lawrence” Jackson was born on December 2, 1936 to the late Beulah Harris in New Orleans, LA. He departed this life on Monday, September 2, 2019.

He formerly worked J C Penny’s and Crown Zellerbach before moving to Grand Rapid, Michigan. He enlisted into the United States Army in June of 1962 where he served until discharged. After leaving the Army he worked for Amway until retired. He was a handyman in a great number of capacities.

He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Mary Baler of Bogalusa, LA, Dennis McKennis, Veda Curtis, and Kim Patterson, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three step-sisters, June Watson Bolden, Brenda Dianne Mosely of New Orleans, LA, and Mary Watson of Alexandria, LA; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Beulah Harris Watson; his brother, the late Johnny Jackson; and a grand-daughter, the late Shantelle Baker Butler.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 12 Noon at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, 809 E 3rd St, Bogalusa, LA. Interment to follow at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
