Sharp Taylor
July 9, 1943 - July 31, 2019



William L. "Sharp" Taylor, age 76 and a resident of the Stateline Community, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 31, 2019. He was born July 9, 1943 and was retired after a 37 year career as a millwright at the paper mill in Bogalusa. Sharp was a faithful member of Stateline Missionary Baptist Church for many years and also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Varnado. He enjoyed traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains with his wife and friends three times a year. Sharp was a member of the Domino Players of the Improve Community and loved woodworking and watching and feeding the birds in his yard each day.

Survived by: Wife: Karon “Kay” Taylor; 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Randall and Megan Taylor, Ronnie and Lyn Taylor; Step-son: Jeffrey Lewis; 2 Step-daughters and a Spouse: Leslie Lewis, Amy Cuneo-Knight and Neil; 8 Grandchildren and Spouses: Laken and William Stogner, Drew Taylor, Treat and Amber Magee, Tristan Magee, Allie and Vincent Chipman, Taylor Toups, Noah Cueno, Kylie Vareles; 6 Great-grandchildren: Lily, Emily, Hayden, Kinsley, Levi, Nate; 4 Sisters and a Brother in law: Pearline Taylor Singletary, Jessie Merle Taylor, Emogene Breland, Vivian and Kendall McKenzie; Brother and Sister in law: Wayne and Dianne Taylor; Also numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years Barbara Ann Kennedy Taylor, parents Ervin Taylor and Georgie McCain Taylor, a sister Wilmoth Taylor and father in law and mother in law Harry and Annie Mae Kennedy.

Visitation will be at Stateline Missionary Baptist Church Thursday August 1st from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Friday. A masonic rites service and funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Friday with Bro. Donnie Broom and Bro. Brent King officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy Family Cemetery.
