Sharon Ann Harry
January 16, 1953 - July 20, 2019



Sharon Ann Harry, age 66, was born on January 16, 1953 in Bogalusa, LA and departed this life July 20, 2019 in Tyler, TX. At an early age, she attended Metropolitan Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA under the leadership of Rev. McEwen. She graduated from Bogalusa High School, class of 1971. She attended Dillard University, class of 1975, and attained Bachelors of Arts in Accounting. She was member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Sharon attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wiona, TX. Sharon loved her church, where she served on the pastor aide committee, and various other organizations.

She was employed at Dow Chemical as an Accountant and transferred to Houston, TX. She then became a Senior Accountant for Delta Drilling and moved to Tyler, TX in 1982. She was honored in Oklahoma in the American Society of Women Accountants, and acknowledged in the Who’s Who in Executives and Businesses. She went on to work as an auditor for UT Health Center. She later opened owned and operated her own business and served as the Director of Storybook Childcare Center on Houston Street in Tyler, TX.

She leaves to cherish three biological daughters (Yoshiko LaToi Harry) of Lewisville, TX, Chloe (Bryan) Williams of Mansfield, TX, Tailer (Jamal) Black of Lindale, TX; her mother Pauline Torrance of Bogalusa, La.; father Hezekiah Torrance, Sr. of Bogalusa, La; sister Veronica (Billy) Thompson of Pearland, TX; brother Hezekiah Torrance, jr., of Bogalusa, La; nephew Hezekiah Torrence, III, of New Orleans, La.; nephew Antoine Torrance of Virginia Beach VA; great nephew Tylar Russell Redditt of Saint Gabriel, La; grandchildren Jaiylin Black, Jamir Black, and Laila Williams. She has three non-biological children Toriano Harry, Elinora (Nathan) Harry-Pearson, and Michael Harry that she loved as her own. Her God daughter Carmen Denise Mark.

Preceded in death by niece (Tiffany Redditt), grandparents Maria Torrence, Howard Torrence, Lena Dunn and Sylvester Robinson, and a favorite Aunt Geraldine Jefferson.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1640 Charlevoix Street, Bogalusa, La.; with Rev. M. J. Galloway, pastor officiating.
