Message from Washington Parish OHSEP on Weather Threat

"Based on current forecasts, the greatest threat facing Washington Parish is flash flooding resulting from heavy rains. As of 2pm today, forecasts are predicting 6-10" of rain from Friday-Sunday. However, this amount can change depending on shifts in the track and/or how slow the system moves. Given the amount of rain predicted and the likelihood of flash flooding, now is a great time to refresh on the differences between flood watches and flood warnings! Know when to listen for further updates and when you should take action!"
