La. Civil Rights Trail Meeting Scheduled in Bogalusa

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser has announced the Louisiana Office of Tourism (LOT) will hold additional statewide meetings in July and August to help identify locations for the new Louisiana Civil Rights Trail. A meeting is scheduled at the Bogalusa Community Family Life Center (837 E. 7th Street) on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 3:00 PM.

The trail will help share the overarching role Louisiana played in the Civil Rights Movement. These meetings are designed to get input from citizens, and to identify and interpret historic events, physical structures, and locations that helped shape Civil Rights history. The meetings will also provide an overview of the project, discuss the nomination process and criteria, and answer any questions attendees may have.

For more information about the meetings, contact Sharon Calcote at scalcote@crt.la.gov or (225) 342-8146.
