James Leston McKenzie, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at his residence in on Franklinton, LA. He was born on November 15, 1930 in Stateline, LA. He served in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of the Pine Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elsie Evans McKenzie of Franklinton, LA; a daughter, Tomi Culpepper (Steve) of Bogalusa, LA; a son, James Gregory McKenzie (Kathy) of Franklinton, LA; three grandchildren, Stephen McKenzie of Labanon, TN, Jason McKenzie of Franklinton, LA, and Jenny Stewart of Bogalusa, LA; six great-grandchildren, Maddye and Analyn McKenzie, Nate and Silas McKenzie, Colby and Katey Stewart. Also survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Modez and Ruby McKenzie; and a sister, Hilda Breland.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. A Masonic Service will be held in the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday night at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue in Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 P.M. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Elder Tommy Hudnall, Elder Duane Ball, and Elder Brent King officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery.
