Obituary

James Larry Wilson
August 01, 1948 - January 01, 2019

James “Larry” Wilson was the fourth child of eleven siblings born to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Willie J. Wilson.  He made his grand entrance into the world on August 1, 1948 in Louisiana.

Larry was reared in Franklinton, Louisiana and attended Washington Parish High School.  He relocated to Houston, Texas in 1980 where he became a successful multi-talented individual in many disciplines including piping, carpentry, chemical plant manager, mechanic, and business owner.

He was blessed to be born into a loving Christian home of prayer directed by the Bible, which led him to store “the word” in his heart.    From his youngest days, he was told of the great Savior, Jesus Christ.  Some of his earliest memories were of Christian churches, worship, songs, sermons, and examples of godliness.  From these things and so many others, he experienced God’s grace and enjoyed immeasurable blessings.

As we fondly look back on Larry’s life, you will find a kind, quite, humble, and caring individual willing to help anyone in need.  As his life was slipping away, he stated the following:  “Although I had a plan for my life, there is ultimately only one plan…God’s Plan.  I have lived my life and I’m not afraid to die.  I didn’t go to church like most would say I should have but I believe in God and trust in him because that is what my mother taught us to do.”  He is resting now and will truly be missed by all of the lives he touched.

On January 1, 2019, Larry departed this life.  His parents, Theodore and Willie J. Wilson, one brother, Rapheal Wilson and one beautiful daughter, Tameria Wilson preceded him in death.

Larry’s loving memories will be forever cherished by his son, Milvell Wilson (Sheliah); daughter, Tameacca Wilson (Rodney); step-daughters, Monique Young, and Deidra Young; grandsons, J’Michea Walker, Larry Milvell Wilson, La’Darious Hayes, JaRodd Wilson, Garland Harper, Jason Washington and Christopher Young, Gerold Kyle; granddaughters,  Ternisha Washington, TiAnna and Tamia Kyle; brothers, Rushell Wilson, William Wilson (Homer), Donald Wilson, Phillip Tate; sisters, Flora Wilson, Alma Hart, Barbara Daniels, Bennie Wilson, and Lisa Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM.
