Obituary

Carolyn Jean Butler-Wade
August 11, 1955 - December 18, 2018


Carolyn Jean Butler-Wade of Sun, Louisiana, made her transition on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. She was born to the late John A. and Amy Butler on August 11, 1955. Carolyn married Richard Wade and to this union there were no children. Carolyn was s faithful member of the Gratiot Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, hospitality and vacation bible school coordinator. Carolyn graduated from Central High School in Detroit, Michigan. She worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan for many years. She earned her diploma in Medical Assisting from Everest Institute in Southfield Michigan.

Carolyn was very creative in making beautiful door wreath for all occasions. She was a community leader, serving on the Virginia Park City Council. She worked with Detroit's Mayor, Dennis Archer, administration and with the Detroit City Parks and Recreation. Carolyn also worked with the Detroit Pistons Foundation and traveled to South Dakota, California, Indiana, Illinois and her favorite place of all, Sun, LA.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Amy Butler, two brothers: Leroy and Thomas Butler.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, eight siblings: Johnnie Ruth Cleveland, Larry (Lynn) Butler, Margaret (Charles) Varnado, Lindsey Ray (Violet) Butler, Madolyn Gloria Merriwether, Naomi (Leonard) Sims, Robert Earl Butler, and Donald Amel  (Jackie) Butler; a dear Friend Richard Wade, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and wonderful caring friends.

Visitation will be at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home on December 28, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral.
