Franklinton Man Charged With Aggravated Arson

The State Fire Marshal’s Office arrested Jamie Guidry (47) of Franklinton for setting a house on fire
in September, 2018 with four people inside. Guidry was arrested Saturday, December 15, 2018 by the Franklinton Police in an unrelated case and then also booked on a warrant charging him with four counts of Aggravated Arson.

In September, 2018, the Louisiana State Fire Marshall's Office investigated a house fire in the 1600 block of Parker Street in Franklinton. Four people had been asleep inside of the home when the fire was discovered. Investigators deemed the fire to be incendiary and developed Guidry as a suspect. Guidry eluded arrest until spotted by Franklinton Police over the weekend and he was placed under arrest after a foot pursuit.

Guidry was booked into the Washington Parish Jail on the charges of Fugitive Other Jurisdiction, Resisting an Officer/Flight on Foot, Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Aggravated Arson (4 counts).
