3 Arrested in Tangipahoa Home Invasion – Burglary - Attack

In the evening hours of November 28, 2018, a 65-year-old male, residing on Deluxe Lake Drive in
Hammond, Louisiana, was attacked and burglarized by two unknown masked males dressed in camouflage and armed with guns. The suspects entered the residence demanding money and the location of a safe. The suspects struck the victim in the face with their weapons multiple times and held the victim down while taking all of the possessions from his pockets and from his person. The suspects continued to burglarize and ransack the residence. Before leaving, the suspects beat the victim one last time and demanded he vacate his residence and not return until the afternoon of the next day. Fearing for his life, the victim left his residence and went into hiding until the next morning.

The next day (November 29, 2018), the TPSO responded to a possible burglary in progress at the Friendly Inn in Hammond. When deputies arrived, they observed the door to the room in question open with several occupants inside. One male subject aggressively walked toward deputies holding an unknown object and was detained. A search led to the discovery of an array of illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, an abundance of stolen property, stolen credit cards, identification cards, and even checks from a local bank bearing the name of the 65-year-old male who lived on Deluxe Lake Drive.

Ironically as the TPSO was in the midst of the investigation into the alleged burglary in progress, detectives were alerted of a reported home invasion that occurred the night before at the residence of a 65 - year-old male who lived on Deluxe Lake Drive in Hammond. Simultaneously, as detectives remained on-scene continuing to investigate the Friendly Inn incident, additional detectives responded to Deluxe Lake Drive where they met with the victim of the home invasion.

At the end of the day, as one case unfolded upon the other, three suspects were taken into custody: Brandon Michael Buras (22) of Folsom, Christina Deangelo (41) of Ponchatoula, and Jonathon Michael Easley (28) of Robert. They were charged with drug-related offenses, possession of stolen property, armed robbery, home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, criminal damage to property, and identity theft.
