James Darren Williams
June 13, 1967 - May 12, 2018



Elder James Darren was born to the union of Robert Earl and Rose Mary Williams on June 13, 1967 in Bogalusa, LA. He departed this life on May 12, 2018 in Covington, LA.
Elder Williams believed in Holiness. He was ordained a minister in 1992 and preached his first sermon at Allen Temple COGIC. Because of his faithfulness and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he was elevated to Minister of music, Elder, Associate Pastor and Superintendent in the churches he joined.
In 1994, Elder Williams married Rosie Thomas and relocated to New Orleans, LA. To this union one child was born, Alexandra Williams. After Hurricane Katrina, the family moved to Decatur, AL where he resided for 10 years. During his tenure in Decatur, he was employed at Waynes Farms and Federal Mogul. He attended Progressive Christian Outreach Ministry (Dr. Arthur L. Warrior, Pastor); and Grace Tabernacle COGIC in Courtland, AL (Dr. Reginald L. Roberts, Pastor).
In 2015, Elder Williams moved back to Bogalusa, LA and joined Allen Temple COGIC where he served with his father, Bishop Robert E. Williams. He was appointed Superintendent by Bishop Arnold Little.
Elder Williams received his Associate Degree in Electrical Construction in 2000 from Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from North Carolina College of Theology in Wilmington, NC in 2011.
Elder Williams leaves to cherish his memory: a loving daughter, Alexandra J. Williams and her mother Rosie T. Williams of Decatur, AL; his parents, Bishop Robert E. and Rose Mary Williams of Bogalusa, LA; three sisters, Regina (Barry) Watley, Lafayette, LA, Trina (Domet) Dooley and Hollisha Williams of Bogalusa, LA; three brothers, Gregory Williams, Jessie L. Williams and Tyreef Williams all of Bogalusa, LA ; a special aunt, Annie Mae Nance of Chicago, IL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family hour will be 6:00PM-7:00PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home-Bogalusa. The visitation will be at St. John Temple COGIC Saturday, May 19, 2018 10:00AM until the funeral service which will start at 12:00PM, Bishop Bobby Ray Brown, pastor, officiating and Bishop Arnold Little, I, Eulogist. Interment-Bogalusa Cemetery.
