Bogalusa: Expired Inspection Sticker Leads to Drug Charges

On Friday, May 4, 2018, a Bogalusa Police Department officer observed a vehicle with an expired motor vehicle inspection sticker on it traveling on Avenue D.
A traffic stop was initiated and the officer made contact with the driver who was identified as Tammy Jones Garcia (43) of Bogalusa. Her drivers license was suspended and she didn't have proof of insurance on the vehicle.
The officer noticed that Garcia had needle track marks in both of her arms from suspected drug use. Jones gave the officer verbal consent to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, the officer located a glass cylinder pipe, commonly used for smoking crack cocaine and a white rock like substance, suspected to be crack cocaine on the floorboard near the drivers seat of the suspects  vehicle.
Garcia was placed under arrest on the charges of Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection, Driving Under Suspension, No Insurance, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
