Franklinton: Do You Want Drive-Through Daiquiri Shops?

The most discussed matter at Tuesday's (March 27, 2018) meeting of the Franklinton Board of Aldermen was proposed changes to the Town's Alcoholic Beverages Ordinance. The ordinance was only introduced at the meeting, with a Public Hearing on the matter on April 10, 2018, and a vote by the Board to follow.
Mayor Richard Dillon read through the proposed changes to the existing ordinance (beginning at 1:45) and all of the Board voted in favor of introduction of the proposed ordinance changes. Ron Pope (beginning at 27:30), Paul Watts (beginning 41:20), and Russell Creel (beginning 49:30) addressed Board in opposition to the changes and Frankie Crosby (beginning 50:55) spoke in favor of passage of the proposed changes.
In other business, the Board approved a resolution related to providing water and sewage service to Mile Branch and heard Police Department, Fire Department, and financial reports.
