Dellaree Simmons Manning
October 18, 1922 - January 07, 2018



For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Sister Dellaree Simmons Manning was born October 18, 1922 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Tarvy Simmons and Edna Harvey Simmons.
She was baptized at the Rocky Hill Baptist Church and later became a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member for 60 years. She was also a member of the senior choir and Women’s Day Captain for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tarvy Simmons and Edna Harvey Simmons, her husband Mr. Osemo Manning; one son, Sylvester Manning, one daughter Ossie Dean Manning; one sister Inola Davis and two son-in-laws, James Smith, Jr. and James King.
Her hobbies she enjoyed were baking cakes and all kinds of cooking, sewing which included hats and clothing. She also enjoyed gardening and talking to her friends. If you looked for her you will find her “just hanging around somewhere in Glory”.
She leaves to cherish her memories Lauree L. King, Long Beach, CA, Clara McClendon, Seattle, WA; Lavern Smith of Franklinton, LA; Mary Labi, Beverly Hills, CA; Ilene (Donell) Davis, Kent, WA, Sonny (Tina) Manning of Long Beach, CA; one daughter-in-law, Rosemary Manning; Pastor and Sister Johnny Causey her adopted children. Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were getting hard to climb, He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered, “peace be thine.” The weary hours the days of pain, the sleepless nights are all passed. For she has found sweet rest at last.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM at New Jerusalem Baptist Church followed by funeral service at 12:00PM with Pastor Johnny Causey - Officiating. Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
