Man Arrested Following Domestic Incident and Standoff with Deputies

Cory Christian McDonald (40) was arrested on multiple felony charges following a domestic disturbance incident that resulted in a standoff with STPSO deputies Friday night (January 19, 2018).
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in Mandeville and located the female victim walking on Oak Street. Before she was transported to a local hospital by Fire District 4, she informed deputies that the suspect was armed with a shotgun and was still at the home.
Deputies located McDonald barricaded inside a detached building in the back yard of the residence. McDonald reportedly fired two rounds through the side wall and window of the building in the direction of deputies. After a lengthy standoff, STPSO SWAT team members forced entry into the building and took McDonald into custody following a brief struggle. McDonald was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated.
Once released, he will be charged with Second Degree Battery, False Imprisonment While Armed with Dangerous Weapon, Resisting a Police Officer with Force or Violence, and Attempted First Degree Murder of a Police Officer.
