On Friday, December 15, 2017, the Bogalusa Police Department received a call about a residential alarm activation on Miller Place. When the BPD officers arrived, they observed a broken window in the rear of the residence but, after searching, did not find anyone inside. The residence was equipped with surveillance cameras and the officers were able to get video footage of the suspect breaking in.
The video showed a young black male wearing a hoodie knocking on the front door. When the suspect doesn't make contact with anyone inside, he walks to the rear of the residence and kicks out a window with his foot. The suspect stays inside the residence for approximately 4 minutes and then runs out the through the rear door.
A short time later, a person who matched the description of the suspect was observed walking on Long Avenue. The suspect, identified as Samuel White (18) of Bogalusa, was charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.
