Susan Batton Sumrall Bush
February 28, 1930 - August 23, 2017 


Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Susan Batton Sumrall Bush, age 87, passed away on August 23, 2017 at her residence in Bogalusa, LA.
She is survived by her husband, Claude Bush; her son, Dennis Sumrall; her granddaughters, Antoinette Catha, and Nikki Hobgood Joyce; her grandsons, Harold Catha, Jr., Chris Sumrall, Jeff Bickham, Troy Culbertson, Ben Culbertson, and Nick Culbertson; and a slew of great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, and father of her children, B.L. Sumrall; her daughters, Rebecca Verret, Roselyn Culbertson, and Sylvia Fortenberry; her parents, Harvey Batton and Leola Thames Batton; her brothers, William “Dub” Batton, Thelda Batton, and James Batton; her sisters, Corletta Currington, Malloy McManus, Bonnie Sumrall, and Faye Lawrence.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5:00 P.M.–10:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Byrd, Rev. Harold Gaddy and Rev. Chadd Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
