Bogus Emergency Calls Lands Bogalusan in Jail

BPD Public Information Officer Major Percy Knight advised today (July 17, 2017 that the Bogalusa Police Department had received numerous 911 emergency calls over the past week from someone who claims he's having a medical emergency, then uses profanity toward the dispatchers and hangs up. The suspect was making the calls from a cellular phone.
Officers were able to find out the name of the cellular phone service provider of the suspect along with his identification. The cellular phone service provider put a trace on the suspects cell phone in order to find his location.
On Saturday (June 15, 2017), the suspect, Billy Wayne Miller (49) of Bogalusa was located and arrested at his residence. Miller had called 911, 28 times on Saturday. Miller was charged with 28 counts of Improper Telephone Communication and 28 counts of Criminal Mischief.
It was later learned through the Washington Parish 911 System that Miller had misused 911, 134 times in a one week period.
Thanks to the hard work of Lt. David Miller and his shift for locating and arresting Miller.
