Two Illegal Drug Retailers Behind Bars on Federal Charges

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that as the result of a joint investigation between the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Roger David Hammond Jr. (43) of Hammond  and Charlotte White (50) of Holden are behind bars on federal drug charges.
An investigation revealed that Hammond was traveling to the Baton Rouge area obtaining methamphetamine that he would later sell in Tangipahoa Parish. With assistance from Hammond Police Department, surveillance began that revealed Hammond driving to the Baton Rouge area, obtaining methamphetamine, and returning to Tangipahoa Parish. Hammond then met White on I-12 at the “weigh-station area” east of Pumpkin Center.  Still under surveillance, Hammond and White openly proceeded in an illegal drug transaction.
Search warrants were obtained and executed, resulting in the arrests of Hammond and White by the DEA. Hammond was also charged by the TPSO with multiple traffic violations and on an outstanding Domestic Violence warrant.
