Kentwood Man Caught After Vehicle Pursuit Into Pike County, MS

At approximately 10:00 AM today (July 25, 2025), deputies from the Pike County Sheriff's Office responded to a request for assistance from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office regarding a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit was traveling northbound on Highway 51, approximately a mile and a half north of Osyka, MS. Upon entering Pike County, PCSO deputies successfully joined the pursuit. Once positioned safely, they executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, which brought the pursuit to a safe and effective conclusion. 

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Garret Miller, a 29-year-old white male from Kentwood, Louisiana, was taken into custody without incident.

The Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver is a law enforcement tactic used to stop fleeing vehicles. It involves the pursuing vehicle making contact with the rear of the fleeing vehicle, causing it to spin out and stop.
