November 10, 1939 — October 25, 2026

Ida Faye Lundie, age 86 and of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026 surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Her life was defined by an extraordinary work ethic, quiet grace, unwavering faith, and a lifelong commitment to caring for others. She leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and compassion that will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Early Life and Faith

Ida Faye was born on November 10, 1939, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She matriculated through the Bogalusa City School System and spent her formative years growing up in Washington Parish, Louisiana, in the communities of Rio and Richardsontown.

Faith was an important part of Ida Faye’s life. She grew up attending Saint John Elizabeth Temple Church under the leadership of the late Bishop John W. White. Her early church experiences helped shape the values of dedication, humility, and service that remained evident throughout her life.

A Life of Hard Work and Service

Following her secondary schooling, Ida Faye entered the workforce, where she developed a reputation for her strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to serve others. She never shied away from hard work and believed that every job, no matter how humble, was an opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter.

Throughout her working years, Ida Faye worked at Acme Cafe, spent many years serving others at Rest Haven Nursing Home, and ultimately retired from Charity Hospital in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Through each position she held, she demonstrated a commitment to doing her best and treating others with care and dignity.

Her life was a testament to the value of honest work and the importance of showing up for others. She understood that even the smallest acts of kindness could make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

The Joys of Family and Home

Beyond her dedication to work, Ida Faye found some of her greatest joys in the simple pleasures of life. She loved baking pies and cakes, sharing homemade treats with family, and spending precious time with her grandchildren. Her kitchen was a place where love could be expressed through the food she prepared and the memories she helped create.

Family was at the heart of Ida Faye’s life. She treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, and the love she shared with them became an enduring part of her legacy. Her presence brought a sense of comfort, familiarity, and connection that her family will forever cherish. Whether through a home-baked dessert, a shared conversation, or simply being there when someone needed her, Ida Faye expressed her love through her actions. She showed that caring for others was not just something she did; it was a way of life.

Those She Leaves to Cherish Her Memory

Ida Faye leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving brothers, Robert “Jimbo” Lundie of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and Johnny Lundie of Slidell, Louisiana; her sons, Leon Lundie of Dublin, California, and Orlando Lundie of Bogalusa, Louisiana, preceded in death son, Darren Lundie; and her daughters, Jacqueline Lundie of Locust Grove, Georgia, and Janice Lundie of Covington, Louisiana. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family members, relatives, and friends who will continue to hold her close in their hearts.

Her family will forever treasure the lessons she taught, the sacrifices she made, the meals she prepared, and the countless ways she demonstrated her love. The memories they shared will remain a source of comfort and strength for generations to come. Her hands may now rest, but the love they gave will live on forever. May she rest peacefully, surrounded by the eternal love and peace she so richly deserves.
