April 14, 2026 at 5:00 PM - Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed Master Plan, including the proposed future Land Use Plan. There is a wealth of information available to review ahead of time at https://www.townoffranklinton.com/zoning-map

April 14, 2026 at 6:00 PM - Mayor and Board of Aldermen Regular Meeting. On the Agenda is 

• The Board will vote to introduce an ordinance to update the zoning ordinance including the new zoning map.

• The Board will hold a public hearing on the ordinance to amend Section 3-9 – Proximity to churches, schools, synagogues, public libraries or public playgrounds, of the current ordinance governing the sale of alcohol.

• The Board will vote to adopt the ordinance to amend Section 3-9 – Proximity to churches, schools, synagogues, public libraries or public playgrounds, of the current ordinance governing the sale of alcohol.

• The Board will vote to have the Mayor sign a resolution to execute an intergovernmental agreement with Washington Parish Government for the next phase of the sidewalk project.

• The Board will review and award a contract to repair the road to the boat launch and dredge the boat launch.

• The Board will review and award a contract for cleaning portions of the Jones Creek canal.
