Thomas Edison Ahlman
July 8, 1940 - November 20, 2025
Thomas Edison Ahlman, age 85 and a resident of the Thomas Community, passed away peacefully Thursday morning November 10, 2025 at his home. He was born in Kirbyville, Texas and later graduated high school in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Tommy served his country as a member of the United States Army-Reserve. He was a welder by trade and worked off-shore with Shell Oil for many years before working on pipelines all around the southern states. Working in this area is what allowed Tommy to meet his wife and settle in Washington Parish nearly 60 years ago. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gunsmith. Earlier in life, he really enjoyed bowling. Tommy enjoyed traveling and he and his wife visited several states on the west coast, Alaska, Washington, D.C. and other areas throughout the country. He was a member of Thomas First Baptist Church and always loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Nicole and Sean Caldwell of Thomas; Son: Ronald Bello of Denham Springs; Grandchildren and Spouses: John-Thomas Caldwell, Connor Caldwell, Blake and Ashley Bello, Cody and Whitney Bello; 6 Great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Brynlee, Presley, Corbin, Harlyn, Bryce; Sister in law: Ledonia Hill; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, their families and many dear friends
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Janette Thomas Ahlman, parents Edison Tesla Ahlman and Ida Pearl Rose Ahlman, brother Robert Ahlman, sisters Inez Knowles, Ruth Brunet, daughter in law Karen Bello, father in law and mother in law Commodore Thomas and Marie Ard Thomas, sister in law Isabelle Hayman, sisters in law and brothers in law Elizabeth and Herman Thomas, Ada Merle and Tony Menish, Waver and Houston Jordan, brothers in law and sisters in law Phillip Ray and Shirley Thomas, Doug and Christine Thomas, Simon and Elizabeth Thomas, brother in law Dewey Thomas and other family members.
A graveside funeral service will be held in the Thomas Cemetery at 2:00 pm Sunday November 23rd with Rev. Tom Descant officiating.
Pallbearers: John-Thomas Caldwell, Connor Caldwell, Blake Bello, Cody Bello, Isaac Barber, Bobby Crowe
Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
