James Earl Boone

June 10, 1944 - August 21, 2025

James Earl Boone of Bogalusa passed away on August 21, 2025, at the age of 81 at his daughter’s home with his family at his side.

James was born in Woodville, MS on June 10, 1944.

Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his parents Buford Boone and Lillian Mae Boone Williamson; two sisters Louise Galloway and Bernice Travis and his youngest son Joey Derrick Boone.

James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita Boone; his oldest son James Jeffrey Boone; two granddaughters Kaleigh Boone and Kinslee Boone; one great-grandson Maverick Phelps; his daughter Hannah Boone Davis and her husband David Davis; granddaughter Damianna Sharp and her husband Karson Sharp; one great granddaughter Grace Sharp; grandson Nathan Davis; also survived by a brother Jerry Boone; a sister Cynthia Spillman and numerous nieces and nephews.

James was a hard worker and retired from the city of Bogalusa after 34 years.  He also recovered pool tables for Genco’s amusement for many years.

James’ best memories were times spent hunting and fishing with his friends, kids and grandkids.  He enjoyed doing his yard work and watching westerns with his wife.  Yet nothing meant more to him than his family.

A heartfelt thanks to Enhabit Hospice nurses and staff in his final day.

At his request, a private service will be held by his immediate family.
