Annetta Lorraine Austin

April 13, 1954 - August 16, 2025

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.”    2 Timothy 4:7

Mrs. Annetta Lorraine Austin transitioned from her earthly life to her eternal home in glory at the age of 71 on Saturday, August 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 13, 1954, to the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Curtis and Mr. Willie J. Lundy. Lorraine was a woman of quiet strength, faith, and kindness. Depending on who called her, she is affectionately known as Lorraine, Mama Lo, Aunt Netta (Annetta) and “Nee”. She cherished her family deeply, enjoyed gathering loved ones for holidays, and loved preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together. Throughout her life, she served in various capacities within her church, including as a Sunday School teacher, and was actively involved in the Senior Mission, choir, and children’s ministry. She coordinated many church programs, guiding children through holiday speeches and celebrations with love, patience, and enthusiasm.

Lorraine dedicated her professional life to public service, working for the Louisiana state government for 35 years before retiring. The last decade of her career were spent working at the Bogalusa School System as a paraprofessional, always demonstrating compassion and a desire to serve others, even though her own illness. Her life was a testament to faith, sacrifice, and unwavering love. She was a pillar of support and love within her family, taking a major role in the upbringing of her sisters’ children and acting as a mother to them, extending her love and guidance to her extended nieces’ and nephews. Affectionately referred to as “Tete” Lorraine was like a grandmother to them all and loved them all dearly. Her bond with Ora Lee Stallings was especially dear - Ora was a cherished companion, and Lorraine considered Ora’s children, Reginald and Tasha Stallings, as family. She also leaves behind her treasured friend Georgia Lundy, and Aisha Lathan, who was like a niece to her and held a special place in her heart.

Mrs. Lorraine Austin leaves behind her beloved husband, Marvin Austin, Sr.; her children Marvin C. Austin, Jr. (Nequnette Lane) and Bradley T. Austin (Shondarion), and her grandchildren, Jaylon Brickmore, Matthew Austin, Asher, Abigail, and Aaron Austin.
