The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO), in collaboration with several law enforcement partners, has arrested 47 year-old Jaronge Durr and 45 year-old Tashaundra Wilson in connection with a drug operation based in the city limits of Independence and the Tickfaw area.
Earlier this month, a tip from our partners at Independence Police directed attention toward a home on Guzzardo Lane in the city limits, as well as Woodhaven Road in Tickfaw, as possible significant drug trafficking hubs in those communities. Following several days of surveillance operations, TPSO identified Durr and Wilson as potential suspects and obtained search warrants for the residences.
On Tuesday (July 29, 2025), TPSO Narcotics detectives were joined by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, agents with the New Orleans Field Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Independence Police Department to conduct those searches which turned up almost $180,000 worth of various drugs, including Fentanyl, Cocaine, Heroin, Meth, and a Heroin-Fentanyl mix. Four different weapons were also discovered along with $21,000 in cash and suspected associated assets. Both suspects were arrested on those search warrant scenes without incident and booked on numerous charges.
This case remains active with additional investigative efforts expected.
***All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty***
