Laura Jane Cox

December 3, 1964 - May 21, 2025

Laura Cox age 60, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA, with her daughter Katie beside her bed. Laura was born December 3, 1964 in Louisiana. Laura lived a life marked by deep love for her family, her dogs and a strong work ethic and giving heart.

Laura dedicated many years of her life working as manager of the back of Bogalusa Cleaners, where her dedication and friendly spirit will forever leave a lasting impression on all who knew her. But her greatest joy in life came from her family. Anyone who knew Laura knew that she loved her grandchildren fiercely and found happiness even in the simplest moments with them whether it be building Legos, watching tv, or just watching them play. In her quite time Laura loved to do puzzles, playing games on her phone or taking care of Powder (her dog), whom she spoiled very much with the sweetest affection. She met life head on with her strong independent, fiery spirit. 

Laura is survived by her beloved children, three daughters, Katie Wallace, Beth Brown, Nicole Yates; two sons, Andrew (Tina O’Brien) Yates, Timmothy Yates; one stepdaughter, Toby Wayne; her grandchildren, Dakota, Madison, Preston, Dyson, Axle, Gage Brown, Ja’Karvis Curney, Sydney, Grayson, Casey Yates and Rosie Smith, and host of other relatives and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Amsey Jane Sawyer Waters and James Willie Cox and a baby son Tolby Wayne Wallace.

A memorial service will be held on a later date to honor Laura life. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who know her. She will be missed greatly.
