The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Traffic Division is investigating after a man, later identified as 31 year-old Robert Parker of Lacombe, was killed when he crashed Monday (May 26, 2025) afternoon in the Lacombe area.
A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s patrol deputy attempted a traffic stop Monday afternoon on a Porche after observing a traffic violation near the Airport Road exit of Interstate 12. The driver of the Porche failed to stop and proceeded westbound on Interstate 12. The STPSO deputy lost sight of the vehicle, and it was later located crashed into the tree line at the Lacombe exit.
The driver was pronounced deceased by medical personnel on scene. Representatives from the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office took possession of the body and late Tuesday (May 27, 2025) identified the deceased as Robert Parker. St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Christopher Tape also advised that Parker died of blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, the manner of death was accidental, and that toxicology tests are pending.
