48 Year-Old Kendrick Lampley of Bogalusa Sentenced to 60 Years in Prison

District Attorney Collin Sims reports that on May 16, 2025, 48-year-old Kendrick Lampley of Bogalusa was sentenced by Judge William H. Burris to 60 years in prison for distributing cocaine.  Having more than ten prior felony convictions, Lampley’s sentence was enhanced due to his status as a repeat offender.  In February, a Washington Parish jury found Lampley guilty on two counts of distribution of cocaine.  Assistant District Attorneys Le’Anne Malnar and Christina Fisher presented the case to the jury and Sargeant Tyler Lindsey with the Bogalusa Police Department headed the investigation.

Previously, in 2019, Lampley was convicted of several violent crimes and drug offenses he committed in Bogalusa.  At that time, he had six prior felony convictions.  Despite his criminal history, Lampley was granted an opportunity to receive taxpayer-financed intensive substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation in lieu of a prison term.  However, he absconded the program in 2020 and resumed his criminal conduct.  Lampley’s criminal history reflects prior convictions for first degree robbery, attempted simple robbery, attempted simple burglary, obstruction of justice, resisting an officer with force or violence, distribution of an imitation controlled dangerous substance, possession of drugs in a penal institution, possession of heroin, possession of hydrocodone and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
