Patrick N. McElveen
April 2, 1963 - August 30, 2020
Patrick N. McElveen, age 57 and a resident of Mount Hermon, died Sunday morning August 30, 2020 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. He was born in Bogalusa on April 2, 1963 and later graduated high school in Texas before working for Texas Signature services in Lufkin, TX. Patrick returned to Washington Parish and then worked in the adolescent department of the Louisiana State Hospital in Mandeville for 10 years. He was an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy novels that also enjoyed playing role-playing games like Dungeon and Dragons or on his computer. Patrick enjoyed fishing and had a special place in his heart for his pet dogs, the late “Grace” and his current baby “Rose” and her puppies.
Survived by: Wife: Lynn Boyett McElveen of Mt. Hermon; Son: Johnnie Istre of Lufkin, TX; Daughter: Michelle Fain of Parma, MO; Step-daughter and Spouse: Vickie and Kris Allums of Splendora, TX; 8 Grandchildren: Aaron, Davin, Keely, Lidia, Alyssa, Erik, Sarah, May; 12 Great-grandchildren; Nephew and Niece: Bishop McElveen, Melinda McElveen; Also numerous other nieces and nephews and many cousins
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul McElveen and Barbara Husser McElveen, infant brother Scott McElveen and infant sister Deedra McElveen.
Patrick will be laid to rest on the family property following a private ceremony.
