Pearl River PD Traffic Stop Leads to Heroin Charges

On June 29, 2017 Pearl River Police Chief Jennings observed two vehicles driving erratically on I-59 North and had two two vehicle stopped. The occupants of the first vehicle were identified as Moises Ortez (42) and Sharon Jenkins (37). The second vehicle was driven by Stacey Miller (34) and she had a 3 year old in the rear seat.
Deputy Chief Daniel Hunter, and Detective Steven Gaudet, Jr. found the Moises Ortez and Sharon Jenkins  to be in possession of heroin. They also found Stacey Miller to be in possession of heroin while in the presence of a child.
All three subjects were arrested by PRPD and charged accordingly for the drugs and other violations, with Miller receiving an additional charge for having the child in the vehicle while in possession of the heroin. All three arrested subjects were residents from Mississippi.
