Geraldine Hedges

Geraldine Trafficano Hedges passed away on Monday, July 03, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Joseph A. Hedges Sr. for 55 years. Mother of Joseph Hedges Jr. (Sandra) of Cypress, Texas, and Renee Blum of Long Beach, Mississippi. Grandmother of Amanda Meissner (David) of Cypress, Texas, Ross Hedges of Cypress, Texas, and Justin Blum of Long Beach, Mississippi. She was born to Santa Angelica and Shabby Trafficano, but after the death of her mother when she was very young, she was raised by her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Carlos Saragusa, who became her mother and father. In addition, she was the sister of Annie Sanders (Paul) and Mike Trafficano (Anna Lee), as well as the late Cali Trafficano, Joseph Trafficano, Tommy Trafficano, Bernard Trafficano, Lou Vicari, Jake Trafficano , C.J. Saragusa, and Gerald Trafficano. She is also survived by her loving dog, Jolie, and cat, Simon, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was a teacher's aide for the Jefferson Parish School System for many years. She loved her family with all her heart, but especially the grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA, on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and continue Thursday from 8:30 AM until the Mass. Interment will be in Westlawn Park Cemetery in Gretna.
