Mary Nell Wilson
September 14, 1940 - June 25, 2025
With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Deaconess Mary Nell, who departed this earthly life on June 25, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 14, 1940, to the late Earl and Henrietta Magee, Mary Nell was a shining light to all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished sister, and a faithful servant of God. Her life was a reflection of quiet strength, grace, and unwavering faith.
Mary Nell received her early education at Star Creek School, where her journey of learning and service began. A longtime, devoted member of Bethel Church of Christ Holiness, she served as a Deaconess with deep humility and love. Through every prayer, every kind word, and every act of service, she touched lives and left a lasting legacy of compassion and faith.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Caroll Magee and son-in-law, Terrence Magee of Franklinton, LA; her son, Robert Earl Wilson and daughter-in-law, Regina Wilson of Franklinton, LA; her daughter, Sonjua Deason of Lufkin, TX, and the memory of her late husband, Malcolm Deason, Sr.; and her son, Roger Wilson of Covington, LA.
She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Robert Magee (Etta Dean), John Magee; and her sisters, Earlene Trahan, Pearl Netterville (Ronald), and Alma Richards. Her brother-in-law, Daniel Wilson also remains to honor her memory. Mary Nell was blessed with ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Wilson Jr.; her daughter, Joan Sholes; her parents; Earl & Henrietta Magee, and four brothers, Jessie, Jill, Wille Elbert and Willie Jay Magee who went before her. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that she is now resting in the eternal peace and presence of her Lord. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all of us.
