Obituary

William Harry, Jr.

December 22, 1944 - June 21, 2025

William Harry Jr. was born in Sandy Hook, Mississippi on December 22, 1944, to William L. Harry Sr. and Maudell Peters. 

His family would later move to Bogalusa, Louisiana where he spent his adolescence and young adult life before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. William would meet the love of his life, Jerrildine (Agee) Harry, there. The couple would marry in 1968. 

William entered the Army Air Corps in 1965. He was sent to Vietnam, where he worked as a transporter/truck driver for heavy ammunition carriage and delivery.

Upon his return to the United States in 1967, William joined the Air Force. He was stationed at several air bases throughout the United States such as San Antonio, Hickam (Hawaii), Biloxi, and Sacramento. In 1982, he finally settled down at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. This would be where William primarily raised his family, then later retire. In addition to being posted at U.S. bases, he also had the opportunity of being stationed internationally in Thailand, Vietnam, Guam, Spain, London, and Germany. 

William Harry was a celebrated and decorated war veteran who proudly served our country from 1965 to 1989. 

Upon retiring from the Air Force, William was employed by the City of North Las Vegas as head of their maintenance department in the North Las Vegas Housing Authority. William retired after seven years of employment due to a work related injury.

After two successful careers, he decided to live a nice, quiet, and humble life. William loved tinkering with projects around the house, watching TV, and eating. He greatly enjoyed the company of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

William was preceded in death by parents, William Harry, Sr. and Maudell Peters; wife, Jerrildine Harry; son, Rodney Harry; three sisters Irene Harry Rogers, Estella Speights, and Gloria Harry Peters; a brother-in-law, Leonard Peters (Bubba); two nephews Sylvester (Sly) Magee and Mario Washington; a daughter-in-law Jodi Harry; grandchild, Aquarius, step granddaughter, Aquarius Warnsley.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sister, Wilena (Harry) Jones of Bogalusa, LA; one son, Taurance Harry of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Aundrel Woods (husband James of Baton Rouge, LA and Lakeisha Hopkins of Las Vegas, NV; two step daughters, Gwendolyn Holland, and Jacqueline Agee both of Morton, MS; a brother-in-law, Johnny Ficklin;   grandchildren,  Joyce, Amario, Aungelle, Jahnice, Jataylon, Klavion, Tyneisha, Jasmine, Aries, Rodneisha, Jodlisha, Lynneisha, Aaliyah and Sarai; His great grandchildren, Jordan, Jada, Jalen, Amyah, Azaree, Azayla, Azavion , Ahmaj, King, Zelda, Jamar Jr., Ja’Marion, Joi’Ya, Marico Jr., Laylah, Jaidyn, Jesiah , Azarion, Nathaniel Jr., Malakai, La’niya, Arion, Ah’miyla, Azaya, Island, Lijana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family, and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 3:00PM – 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:30AM at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church 120 Sunlight Church Road, Sandy Hook, MS. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
