Obituary

Aline Ricks Quin
May 22, 1925 - March 11, 2020



Aline Ricks Quin, age 94 yrs, a native & resident of Mount Hermon, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at her home Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Her work on this earth was done and her prayer was answered to join all her loved ones gone before her. She attended Sunny Hill School starting at the tender age of four and soon transferred where she graduated from her proud alma mater Mount Hermon High School, class of 1941. She co-owned Quin Cattle Company and Quin Meat Packing Company, then later worked at Mount Hermon School. She had a multitude of talents from gardening to sewing and loved decorating, inside and outside for every holiday. Those who knew her could attest to what an amazing cook she was and overall, what a grand and classy lady who demonstrated her love for her beloved family and friends on a daily basis.

Aline was preceded in death by parents, Warren W. “Jack” and Maude Brock Ricks, daughter Jackie Ray Quin, sister Mildred Ricks Bulloch, brothers Clyde Ricks, Paul Ricks, Jesse Ricks & Coot Ricks.

Left to honor Aline and remember her love are Children: Tommy Warren Quin of Mount Hermon, LA, Betty Ann Quin Cothren (Larry) of Baton Rouge, LA.; Grandchildren: Donna Quin of Houston, TX, Belinda Quin of Gallatin, TN, Tommy (Tom) Warren Quin Jr. (Brandy) of Covington, LA, Ray Quin (Christie) of Mount Hermon, LA , Larry Cothren Jr (Jennifer ) of Baton Rouge, LA & Ashley Cothren Cavin (Darren) of Baton Rouge, LA.; Great-Grand children: Jaclyn Johnson Northrop (Blaine) of Houston, TX, Lauren Lee of Gallatin, TN, Aidan Quin, Noah Quin & Weston Quin all of Covington, LA Connor Quin, Katherine Quin & Camdyn Quin all of Mount Hermon, LA , Christopher Cothren & Natalie Cothren of Baton Rouge, LA & step great-grandson Blaine Cavin of Baton Rouge, LA.; Great-Great grandsons: Owen & Benjamin Northrop of Houston, TX.; Special Nieces: Nan Bulloch Bradley, Paulette Bulloch Crain & Jessie Carol Bulloch Benton, as well other nieces & nephews, plus countless friends.

A celebration of life and memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 36126 Highway 38, Mount Hermon, LA 70450 with Bro Joe Baugh & Bro Ray Wuerzer officiating a brief service at 2:00 PM with fellowship to follow. A private interment (close friends & family) will follow later on her birthday, May 22, 2020 at Sunny Hill Cemetery. In lieu of any flowers the family ask contributions be made to the Mount Hermon Golden Grad Scholarship Fund, % Margaret Williamson, 38371 Highway 438, Mount Hermon, LA 70450.

The Quin family wishes to thank all the dear friends & family that have been so faithful and supportive over the last four and half years. Additionally, we thank the staff at Community Care Hospice for their exceptional compassion, as well as Rob Crain’s professionalism at Crain Funeral Home of Franklinton, LA.
