Tree Limb in Road Causes Death of Osyka Man Near Easleyville

Shortly before 5:00 am on Friday (August 16, 2019), Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a single vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 38 west of LA Hwy 43 in St. Helena Parish. The crash claimed the life of 36-year-old Douglas Glass of Osyka, MS.

The initial investigation revealed that the crash occurred as Glass, a Fireman with the Zachary Fire Department, was traveling westbound on LA Hwy 38 in a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet struck a tree limb that was hanging across the roadway.

Glass was unrestrained at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
