Obituary

Pearlie Jean Lewis
April 09, 1945 - August 08, 2019

“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course I have kept the Faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Pearlie was born on April 9, 1945 to the late Pearlie Mae Youngblood and Zolla “Doss” Mark. She departed this life on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at her residence in Angie, LA. Jesus allowed one of his angels to whisper softly to her my good and faithful servant come home and rest.

She joined Center Baptist Missionary Baptist at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Linwood Bolton, Sr. where she served on the usher board for many years. Later in life she united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Tylertown, MS under the leadership of Rev. C.B. Bias and served as the pastor assistant committee. She then united with Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Sidney Burns, Jr. She attended church faithfully until her health began failing her.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Charles Lewis, Sr.

Pearlie leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Maria Weary, Christine (David) Bickham of Angie, LA; three sons, Chris (Robin) Green of Bogalusa, LA, Antonie (Deonie) Green, both of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; six sisters, Doris (William, Sr.) Dillon, Mae Von Dexter and Ola Mae Youngblood of Angie, LA, Jerrie Youngblood of Bogalusa, LA, Ruby Mae Pittman of Sandy Hook, MS and Betty Jean Peters of Pascagoula, MS; ten brothers, Clyde, Evan, Lorenza “Randy”, Alcee, Ray, and Charles Youngblood all of Angie, LA, Moresia Mark of Tylertown, MS, Terris (Michelle) Crumedy of Angie, LA, Keith and Keyderly Crumedy, both of Tylertown, MS.  eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis, Sr.; mother, Pearlie Mae Youngblood; father, Zolla “Doss” Mark; four sisters and four brothers.

The visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home-Bogalusa from 4:00PM-6:00PM with a family hour from 6:00PM-7:00PM.

The funeral service will be Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Angie, LA with Rev. Sidney Burns pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Dillon Cemetery, Angie, LA.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home, Bogalusa in charge of arrangements.
