November 4, 1943 - July 31, 2019
William Hollis Thompson, Sr., age 75 and a resident of Folsom, died Wednesday July 31, 2019 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans after a lengthy illness. He was retired after a long career as a welder with Trinity Marine. Hollis enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He loved planting a successful garden each year and taking care of chickens.
Survived by: Wife of 51 years: Karen Toney Thompson; Son and Daughter in law: William Hollis Thompson, Jr. and Melissa Thompson of Goodbee; Daughter and Son in law: Gwendolyn Thompson Singley and Brandon Singley of Madisonville; 5 Grandchildren: Shai Thompson, Cole Hackney, Taylor Perilloux, Dawson Hackney, Wade Singley; Sister: Donnis Mansfield of Covington; Also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Thompson and Martha Fairburn Thompson and a brother Hermon Thompson.
Hollis was laid to rest in San Pedro Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery following a graveside funeral service for his family.
