Obituary

Andrew Wesley Harrington, Jr.
July 20, 1954 - June 30, 2019



“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my live; of whom shall I be afraid?  Psalm 27:1.”

Andrew Wesley Harrington, Jr., was born on July 20, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Curtis Lee (McCray) Harington and Andrew Harrington, Sr.

He was a 1970 graduate of Eva Gardens High School in Magnolia, Mississippi.  He also attended Valley State University in Mississippi where he received his bachelor degree.  He was the first black fireman in the City of Bogalusa.

He leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Sharonda Roberts, Trakemia (Broderick) Chatman, Wesley Magee, and Anderila Marsha Miller all of Bogalusa, Louisiana; one sister, Kim McClinton of Bogalusa, Louisiana, one uncle Willie (Beris) McCray of Bogalusa, Louisiana, one aunt, Josephine McCray of Terrell,Texas, and one sister-in-law, Hazel Harrington of Bogalusa, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren all of Bogalusa, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Lee (McCray) Harrington and Andrew Harrington, Sr., two brothers, Gerald and Michael Harrington, sister, Katherine Weary, great niece Niklya McClinton, aunt, Shirley Freeman, brother-in-law, Jesse McClinton and uncle Robert Charles McCray.

The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana, with Elder Gregory Robinson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
