Salvador Angelo Lorio
May 3, 1947 - May 31, 2019



Salvador Angelo Lorio, age 72, was born on May 3, 1947 and passed away at his residence on May 31, 2019. His youngest daughter, Sherry Lorio Hamby, was by his side. He served his country in the United States Army in November of 1967 and received his Medical Honorable Discharge in February of 1968. He enjoyed working as a professional butcher for many years. On December 29, 1981, Salvado received his first commission as a deputy sheriff under Robert Lyons. He served the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office until he received his last commission under Sheriff Robert “Bobby” Crowe on July 1, 2008 as a Honorary and Retired Deputy. Having served almost 27 years, being a deputy was something he absolutely loved doing and was the profession he was most proud of. He attended Church of Christ “Restored “ in Bush, La.

Left behind to carry on his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and John Hamby, who took care of him in his time of illness.
;, Grandchildren Justin Allen Roberts and Haley Roberts, Matthew James Simmons ,Jr. and Amber Simmons, Kristen Hamby Pierce, and Jonathan Leighton Simmons also played a large part in helping to take care of him in some way or another over the last ten years. His great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Roberts, was there to help her “Paw Sal” at the tender age of just three or four years old. His youngest son, Jason Randolph Lorio will also cherish and carry on his memory.

He is survived by the mother of his two youngest children and dear friend, Ann Easterling Lorio-Quave; his brother Phillip Ned Lorio (June);sister-in-law Susan Ard (Richard)Children: Krystal Lorio Hollier and her four daughters(Taylor, Lea Anne ,Emily, and Kaelyn), Kimberly Lorio and her son Ricky,Kristopher Lorio and his son Nicholas; Grandchildren: Holly Hamby, John Aaron Hamby, Hope Hamby Salters(Zachary), and Victoria Ellen Lorio. Great-grandchildren: Adalynn, Hunter, Giovanni, Ella, Elijah, Clay ,Braxton, Piper, and Raelynn. He was also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved his dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Anthony Lorio; his maternal grandmother, Lena Gunulfsen; his mother, Betty Lou Breland Lorio; his father, Ben Lorio; his sister, Anna Marie Lorio and his paternal grandparents, ben and Angeline Lorio.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Tuesday June 4, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. Visitation will continue of Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Ponemah Cemetery. Reverend Larry Hunt and Reverend Larry Thomas will officiate.

Jimmy Lorio, Chad Lorio, Justin Roberts, Matthew Simmonds, Jared Phelps, and Jonathan Simmonds will serve as pallbearers to take him to his final resting place.
