Rev. Kent Lynch
November 29, 1944 - May 27, 2019



“I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.” Philippians 4:13

Rev. Kent Lynch was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi on November 29, 1944 to the late Print and Ollie Lynch.

Later in life he joined Tree of Life Baptist Church. He moved to Bogalusa after servicing his country honorably in the US Army. He was employed with Entex Gas Company for 38 years. He attained his PHD from Christian Bible College of Southwest Louisiana. He was assistant pastor of Harry’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary Smith Lynch of Bogalusa, La., two sons, Kenny Lynch of Prairieville, La., and Oscar Lynch of Baton Rouge, La., and one daughter Kimberly Lynch of Baton Rouge, La. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Yazmine, Kianna, Ebony, Kiarra, Kenny, Jr., Kendall, and Kaden Lynch, and one great-granddaughter Aubrede Delone (?). He also leaves to cherish four brother Wesley (Brenda) Lynch, Jesse(Patsy) Lynch, Ellis(Lee Helen) all of Hazlehurst, Mississippi, William (Gaylynn) Lynch of New Orleans, La., and four sisters Elaine Boutte of New Orleans, Elsie Cameron of Brookhaven, Mississippi Mary McGhee of McComb,Mississippi and Chris Harris of Meridian, Mississippi, five sister-in-law’s, Sallie Barnes, Edna Jones, and Thelma (Elmo) Flot of Louisiana and Gertrude Hamilton of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Emma Tillman of Natchez, Mississippi. Also leaves two godchildren, Donnell Hamilton and Rikki Guillory and a host of nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents Print and Ollie Lynch and one sister Altha Lee Mickle.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Crain and Sons in Bogalusa. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Harry’s Chapel United Methodist Church located at 590405 Mitchell City Road, Bogalusa, La., with the Rev. Nolan Robinson, officiating.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home, 809 East Third Street, Bogalusa La. 70427 in charge of arrangements.
