Drug Dealer Charged in Drug Overdose Death of Mandeville Man

The Mandeville Police Department Chief Gerald Sticker reports that Danearl Brown (45) has been
charged with Second  Degree Murder and Distribution of Heroin in the 2018 death of Christopher Stier (47) of Mandeville. Brown was booked March 7, 2019 into the St. Tammany Parish Jail where he remains on a $300,000 bond.

One June 2, 2018, Mandeville Police were dispatched to a residence on Villere Street. The initial investigation, which consisted of witness statements and various pieces of physical evidence, pointed towards a drug overdose. In November 2018, the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed those suspicions, finding heroin and at least two different opioids in the victims toxicology.

In the following months, with the aid of assisting agencies, detectives carried out search warrants and followed up on investigatory leads that identified the suspected drug dealer who supplied the fatal doses.

“As Chief, I would like to commend my detectives for their tenacity in being able to piece together the final hours of Mr. Stier’s life and objectively connect him to his suspected dealer. I believe we have put together a solid case that will be instrumental in Brown’s prosecution.”
