Allen Mier
October 11, 1936 - March 23, 2019



Allen Mier of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends March 23, 2019 at the age of 82. Born in Manchester, LA on October 11, 1936. He was the fifth born of six children to Eulis and Delores Esthay Mier. Preceded in death by his siblings Mildred Mier Windom, Wilson Mier, Sable Mier Romine, Ella Rose Mier McDaniel Mier and Joseph Mier. Also preceded in death by his wife Helen Orgeron Mier.

Allen is survived by 6 children Mary Mier, Mark Mier, Michael Mier, Matthew Mier, Joseph Mier and Frances Mier and 37 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Allen was a man that believed in family. He was a man that not only did he verbally teach his children and those around him about being a person of honor and a lifelong learner but showed them by example how to work your way up without cutting corners and do it with integrity. He was an example of being a great husband to a woman that he married as a young man and kept his vow till death do, we part. He was a man that was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He found happiness in family. He enjoyed traveling the world and could fix anything that was placed before him. Allen was a project manager for multiple petroleum companies and has worked all over the world. He enjoyed watching western movies with Clint Eastwood and great country music by artist like Johnny Cash.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life at Crain Funeral Home 1109 Bene St. Franklinton, LA 70438 on Wednesday March 27, 2019 from 10 am to 2 pm. Guests will have an opportunity to share a memory or comment at the celebration of life. Immediately following the services, grave side services will take place at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery located at 25393 Mt. Pisgah Rd. Mt. Hermon, LA 70450.
