A Mandeville Patrol Officer stopped a white Jeep Liberty for improper lane use. During the course of the traffic stop, the investigating officer detected the strong odor of raw marijuana coming from within the Jeep. Batiste, who was also found to be driving with a suspended driver’s license, was detained. A search of Batiste’s vehicle turned up just over 2 pounds of suspected marijuana and over $2,500.00 in cash.
Batiste was booked for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, improper lane use and driving under suspension and remanded to the St Tammany Parish Jail.
