Cindy Cefalu Verret
November 10, 1953 - February 13, 2019



Cindy Cefalu Verret, age 65 and a resident of Franklinton, died Wednesday February 13, 2019 at her home. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse that worked for the Washington Parish School System at schools throughout the parish before spending several years at Franklinton High School. She more recently worked at the clinics of Riverside Medical Center and Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. Cindy was a longtime member of Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she often played the organ and piano and also sang with the church choir. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and interior decorating of her home. Cindy loved spending time in the marshlands of South Louisiana hunting alligators and riding in the boat. She had a special place in her heart for her pet cat Jinx. She was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survived by: Husband: Ernest Verret of Franklinton; Mother: Charline Goings Cefalu of Pine; 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Christina and Steven Branch of Pine, Heidi and Nathan Williams of Amelia, LA; Son: Nate Verret of Franklinton; Grandchildren and a Spouse: Rachel B. Smith and Jordan Smith, Jacob Branch, Anna Branch, Casa Williams, Joseph Williams; Sister and Brother in law: Annette and Mike Brumfield of Daphne, AL; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Everett, Jr. and Diane Verret, Joseph and Joan Verret, Susan and Joey Foret all of Amelia; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her father Anthony Cefalu, a brother Joey Cefalu, father in law and mother in law Everett, Sr. and Hazel Verret, grandparents Carl and Jessie Goings and Joseph and Christine Cefalu.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday February 15th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Saturday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Saturday with Eld. Donnie Broom, Eld. Duane Ball and Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the Acy’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
